State Assemblyman David Tangipa is the lead plaintiff in a federal lawsuit (Tangipa v. Newsom) alleging that new congressional maps established by Proposition 50 constitute a racial gerrymander.
Tangipa’s 8th Assembly District covers Inyo and Mono counties, as well as Calaveras, Fresno, Madera, Mariposa, and Tuolumne counties.
