Central Valley Assemblyman David Tangipa addressed the crowd, calling Kirk a champion of free speech. “The part that breaks my heart is how he’s been demonized and how many people called him a Nazi,” Tangipa said. “I don’t remember Hitler going to college campuses, walking up to people and saying, ‘debate my ideas.’ Charlie advocated for your freedom to express yourself, regardless of how you feel.”
