At least two rural hospitals could soon shut down in California with other at risk

The rural hospital reportedly had enough cash on hand to last until this week. Republican Assemblyman David Tangipa told KCRA 3 that while the hospital is now out of money, state and local leaders are working to keep it open.

“I shouldn’t have two counties with almost no hospitals,” Tangipa said. “Doors are open, but there is a very real possibility that people will just show up one time and they’ll no longer be able to work and that is the sad reality of a lot of hospitals across California.”
